A new species of wild cat called the Tilcayo has been formally identified in Bolivia's cloud forest.

A diminutive wild cat that inhabits Bolivia’s ⁠cloud forest has been identified as a previously unknown species, marking the first time a new living feline species has been formally named and described in more than a century.

A new species of wild cat has been discovered in Bolivia’s Yungas forest. The light brown spotted Tilcayo, which is smaller than a domestic cat and native to Central and South America, is the first addition to the wild feline family in more than a century.
