PAC linked to GOP firm is boosting Ohio socialist in Senate race
A socialist candidate in the hotly contested Senate race in Ohio says a mysterious super PAC sending out mailers on his behalf is “deceiving” voters.
Greg Levy’s campaign said in a social media post on Sunday that it had nothing to do with the flood of mailers urging Ohio voters to
“Join the Revolution” and touting his calls to “Free Palestine” and adopt a $30 minimum wage.
The campaign said it is considering taking legal action “against the operatives behind this crude impersonation”
that it likened to “digital blackface.” (Levy is Black.)
Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio),
Democratic nominee Sherrod Brown and their allies have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising over the seat,
which is core to Democrats’ plans to win control of the Senate.
The super PAC, Enough Promises Ohio, has spent nearly $400,000 on the mailers boosting Levy, according to federal campaign finance filings.
Enough Promises Ohio used a firm for printing and mailing campaign literature that appears to be linked to a Republican firm, Cleveland.com first reported.
The printing firm, Seven Farms, uses the same address as a political vendor that has been paid by No Going Back PAC, a super PAC linked to President Donald Trump.
