Former Cambridge prof #JasonArday was found dead on Friday. I won't speculate about the cause of his death. But we do know that Jason Arday was monstered by the media, old & new. Arday was a scholar, not a public figure. He was not a controversialist. There was no suggestion of criminality. The allegations against him were of academic errors, not crimes. Yet Arday was hounded like a fugitive or extreme politician. And now he's dead, at only 41. That hounding must be thoroughly investigated.

BREAKING: Jason Arday, Cambridge University’s youngest Black Professor at one time, found dead at a property in south west London. He was 41. He was autistic. He had been accused of plagiarism at a different university, which cleared him in an investigation. Arday had recently resigned from Cambridge amidst the allegations and additional allegations that were personal in nature. Arday had received tons of abuse on social media and by right-wing newspaper commentators in the UK. #jasonarday #RIP
