#WritersCoffeeClub Apr. 23 – What are some form conventions you disregard? My most recent rejection was in part because my submission disregarded prose conventions — y'know, stuff like capitalization, punctuation, and single-column layout. Or past and future tense, I guess. I know form was at least part of the reason because I was told I should submit a much shorter piece (less than half of what I sent in as a short story) and as a poem if I wished to have this kind of work considered. They were nice about it tbc, they just didn't have an advance guideline on their site because they didn't Expect that, you know? xD (Bursts in like Kool-Aid Man) NO ONE expects the uncapitalized short story!! :flan_cool:

#WritersCoffeeClub 23 April: What are some form conventions you disregard? I dunno. I write in a pretty traditional, third person, past tense, chapter-based format. I also work with editors to ensure the form conforms, so to say.
