New York City has collected $131.5 million from DoorDash in the largest worker settlement in city history after finding *the company systematically ROBBED more than 260,000 delivery workers*.
The city’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection found DoorDash ROBBED thousands of workers and paid thousands more late, and affected workers will receive roughly 200% of what they were owed, meaning someone shorted $1,000 will get $3,000.
Mayor Mamdani noted the enforcement action comes even as DoorDash pulled in $13.7 billion in revenue last year, a 28% jump from 2024.
Workers don’t need to file any claim since the city already identified everyone owed money through its own analysis, and payments will go out this fall via personalized notices.
The settlement also creates a new monitoring system, developed with a Princeton University partner, that will let drivers share their trip and earnings data directly with the city to track DoorDash’s compliance going forward.
