EU's eudi_wallet and Age Verification Push Face Claims of State Overreach and Technical Failure

I don't trust all future governments to handle data about what sites I visit or what forums I participate in responsibly. They may not like my sexual orientation. They may not like my political or religious views. They may not like that I'm a Linux & FOSS user, dev, or gamer. They may not like my medical history. This is why I'm fundamentally opposed to having to verify my age for online activities with an app that calls home to a state authority, like the #eudi_wallet. Scrap it! #privacy 4/4

Age verification is stupid, unnecessary, and dangerous, and more people should question the _goals_ of this push, rather than just the technical implementation. That said, I also can't ignore that the EU is building a new ID system that bouncers can demand, whereas the US is trying to force a verification requirement into _operating systems_. If your solution to bad age verification is "better" age verification, you are part of the problem. Reject surveillance. Age verification is a tool and a goal of fascists.
