Fusion's Repair Our Environment plan takes the remaining step: from assessing whether major native vegetation loss can proceed, to establishing that commercial native logging and broadscale conversion are generally not permitted. Victoria and Western Australia have already ended commercial logging in state-owned native forests. This would finish the job nationally, with narrow exemptions for ecological management, public safety, cultural land management and essential infrastructure. Higher costs or commercial convenience alone wouldn't justify clearing. Plantations are unaffected. Join Fusion and help make ending native forest destruction a national standard. #auspol #biodiversity https://go.fusionparty.org.au/qkQZ7

Australia loses around 250,000 hectares of native forest each decade to logging and clearing. That's a hole we can't dig out of with restoration alone. Fusion's plan: prohibit commercial native logging and broadscale conversion of native vegetation, with narrow exemptions for ecological management, safety, and essential infrastructure. We'd also expand the Nature Repair Market to reward restoration of damaged and partially intact ecosystems, not just replanting cleared land. And in the Murray-Darling, we'd consolidate water management under the MDBA to fix a system where planning, environmental water, and enforcement are split across institutions. This is what real environmental repair looks like. Donate to make it happen. #auspol #environment https://go.fusionparty.org.au/k2myT
