So the total on airline pilot suicide/murders I could quickly find includes: Egypt Air 990 - 1999 MH370 - 2014 Germanwings 9525 - 2015 China Eastern Airlines 5735 - 2022 …probably not Air India 171, they’ve cleared the pilots ( but then they did for Egypt Air, too, until William Langewiesche took a look). All of these happened with no political overtones. Is it possible the near-crash of yesterday was just a suicidal guy? Can’t say it hasn’t happened before. Repeatedly.
