#ScribesAndMakers May 18 - If someone were to write a character based on you, how often would exclamation marks be warranted in your dialogue? Not that many ...but they would definitely have to show me pausing with ellipses ...and thinking in italics. 🙂

#ScribesAndMakers 18 May: If someone were to write a character based on you, how often would exclamation marks be warranted in your dialogue? Ouch, probably more than I’d dare to admit. I don’t think I’m a big shouter, but between raising a rascal and regularly stubbing my toes, you’ll already get quite a few in. Also, I don’t drink so much anymore, but when I do I often get jolly in a loud way.

#ScribesAndMakers 18 May If someone were to write a character based on you, how often would exclamation marks be warranted in your dialogue? Very rarely. I almost never raise my voice, and I tend towards the understated. If something goes wrong or I accidentally hurt myself, I'm more likely to utter a quiet "ugh" of disappointment than shout "fuck". So maybe, about the amount I use "!" in my posts here would be an honest answer.

#ScribesAndMakers 18 May: If someone were to write a character based on you, how often would exclamation marks be warranted in your dialogue? Frequently, combined with expletives. If you see a chubby middle-aged woman going around muttering, "Fucking fucks, you fuckers!" - that's me. In pink sneakers.
