I included a little of that in my work, since it spans a long period of time, but not so much as to confuse or annoy readers. For myself, at my age, I am often behind in the "latest lingo," but I try to keep up.

But I tend to use mostly archaic language in my writing, so, going in the other direction. I guess at heart I am a very traditional person in terms of language, so I personally am unlikely to embrace changes, but I'm fine with them at a broader level.
