Peltola and her family were on their way to the Alaska Federation of Natives Annual Banquet when their vehicle was struck by another driver, the campaign said. 
“Mary and her family sustained minor injuries but are in good spirits,” Peltola’s campaign manager, Cheryl Bruce, said in a statement. 
Peltola was scheduled to kick off her “Alaska Always Tour,” a slate of events to round out the final days of her campaign, with planned stops in Fairbanks and Bethel on Sunday and Monday.
