Mastodon.cloud Users Forced Off Abandoned Server Amid Security Warnings and Federative Collapse

The moderators and admins of Fosstodon have decided they're going to defederate from this instance because it's unmoderated. The admin(s) have been inactive for ~3 years and the software is out of date. Because it's got open registration and no moderation, it's being used by less scrupulous individuals for spam and other not to be mentioned material. If at all possible, please move to a maintained server. Please.

I’ll vet your account, and if you’re an ethical human being I will make sure you can migrate here. Fosstodon isn’t the first and won’t be the last. Lots of moderators and admins have been toeing this line. Which sucks for the good people with accounts there. The main reason for all of this is that their admin doesn’t moderate CSAM content. Moderators here, @Taubeaufdemdach, could be making exceptions for favored #Mastodon accounts, instead of applying the rules impartially for everyone.
