Nostalgic conservatism is a reaction to the loss of past societal values such as civil rights progress, ethical leadership, and simpler technology.

I think the saying that people become more conservative in their old age is really based on nostalgia. Well you want to know what I miss from when I was a kid? Civil rights on the ascendance, nazis being hunted instead of the hunters, computers that didn't try to sell you shit 24/7 and scrape your contacts for the enrichment of billionaires, US presidents with some fucking shame who weren't allowed to get away with all their crimes, and being able to drink a milkshake that cost less than two bucks. I'm really not very concerned about that last one, but the rest? I want it back and I want it now. So yeah, that's my "conservative" streak. #USPol
