🌪️ Severe storms slammed the NYC area Thursday night — flash flooding, over 2 inches of rain, and TWO tornadoes that started as waterspouts off Queens and Long Island.
One came ashore in the Eastern Rockaways, the other in Atlantic Beach, between 6:30-7pm. LaGuardia briefly shut down; 200+ flights canceled.
