If the #fediverse (or the #atmosphere, same problem) were a startup and I had any say in it, I would make a list of all things that make it hard for it to have larger impact on the world than it currently has, and insist that we systematically work them down. Because I don't think we are. Of course, it's not a startup and should not be. It needs to be many projects, none of them dominant, otherwise we'd end up right where we wanted to get away from: centralized social overlords. 1/2
