The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a request with the U.S. Department of Justice seeking the prosecution of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir over war crimes and incitement to genocide, ahead of his expected visit to New York on 7–8 July.
According to the filing, HRF says Ben Gvir bears responsibility for abuses including war crimes and genocide-related offenses, and explains that some of the victims include U.S. nationals, which it argues gives U.S. authorities jurisdiction to act.
The complaint comes as Ben Gvir is scheduled to attend a conference in New York hosted at the United Nations headquarters.
