Ukraine Presses US for Tougher Sanctions as Experts Debate Kyiv's Reliance on American Aid

Ukraine's official diplomatic effort, led by Yuliia Svyrydenko, is actively lobbying US lawmakers to implement stricter sanctions against Russia and increase security backing ahead of winter. Meanwhile, concrete reports show Ukrainian strikes hitting Russian oil infrastructure, reportedly costing Moscow $100 million daily. The analysis also notes that US sanction policy remains inconsistent, with multiple reports citing the Treasury easing or renewing waivers on Russian oil shipments. The debate centers on Ukraine's geopolitical standing. Some experts, like Kristian_Kiehling, assert Ukraine is building resilience independently, arguing the narrative of inevitable defeat without US aid is outdated. Conversely, others point to Russia's alleged strategic shift, suggesting Moscow seeks to sideline the United States from Europe. A third view, represented by KCKane137, rejects current geopolitical narratives entirely, framing modern life in the West as a continuation of historical 'neoliberal illusions' and tyranny. The prevailing current points to Russia facing demonstrated material losses on the battlefield and in its energy sector. However, the core instability lies in US support: whether Ukraine can sustain momentum through its own means, or if inconsistency in US sanction enforcement will prove decisive.

"Ukrainians would much rather have the United States on their side than on Russia’s [...] But Ukrainians do not believe that losing American support will inevitably lead to their defeat. They see how they have sustained the war effort, using their own resources and with the help of European partners, even as the U.S. has moved away. Writing the United States off as a friend might once have been a sign of doom for Ukraine. It isn’t anymore." https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/04/ukraine-trump-us-oil-russia/686854/?gift=BQHDq1p24LRO8cUUEyLQ662MHEbZ7hRgiAy66D6yYJ0

One of our comrades from Russia want to share his experience. First and foremost Glory to Ukraine! Living during times, when your country has fallen into tyranny, when markets become monopolized , democracy destroyed, freedom of speech wiped out, free internet eradicated, and unjust war is going for years… you may start remembering, that there was a brief moment after the fall of USSR, when country was still relatively free you even believed that you have some hope for the future. A fairy tale, a fantasy, an illusion, a lost paradise. Curious to think, that for quite a while folk even here, not only in the west lived in relative peace, with some hopes, with affordable things and housing. It was all just a moment, someone’s joke, a chance for something, that no one was willing to take. We thought as fools, that it will last for years, and everything will be just better and better. Those neoliberal illusions after the fall of USSR… Back then, even revolutionary theory seems something distant and old. But just as all other fairy tales that one has ended, it has left us with imperialism, tyrants, fascism and understanding that nothing will be better, that terror, war, and then civil war is new norm. Unfortunately, for us neoliberal hope has not ended in an instant. Those Illusions died slowly and with a big cost. And one of the last one – a hope for democratic Russia in the future without civil war and disintegration has died with Navalny… I think that in the life of everyone, who end up in similar situation there were foreshadowing – a signs of future doom. It was those stories that sometimes were whispered about great terror- when families was ripped apart suddenly in one night just to never see each other again, that the whites were killing all who slightly looked like a jew, that half of the Russian tsarists and capitalists, who flew the civil war and revolution end up joining the Nazis, that a state can just take away your home at any moment and make you go 1000 miles away to some hellhole for no reason. We thought it was just a history, some sad long gone pages. In reality, it was foreshadowing the new norms of our life. Turns out those sad pages of history are actually repeating themselves right now. Turns out, that how the world actually is. All those neoliberal illusions and hopes were like tears in the rain. Sometimes I even think – was it even real, when you can just write in Russian internet posts against Putin and government, without any fear of upcoming arrest? A tragedy was forming itself, while fools were dancing their last moments in blissful ignorance. I wonder comrades, do you feel the same? Living under tyranny means learning to hide what you think, learning to hide your identity, never say what you actually mean, always considering everyone as a potential snitch. Such existence will destroy everything you could be, It could destroy everything that you actually are. Unless you have a means to glimpse into the future with techniques like psychic vision, remote viewing, day to day dream interpretations. Such mental intel could really help, when fear and anxiety are main instruments of the tyrants, which like to copy Russian experience of the “rule of uncertainty” bullshit. Join digital brotherhood of mystical anarchists – give your mind means to penetrate the uncertainty. #anarchy #anarchism #Russia #parapsychology #occult #personal #politics #fascism #left #tyranny #democracy
