Participants are focused on sharing and discussing the technical depth and creative output of 1980s and 1990s digital media, centering on the Amiga platform. Technical specifics surfaced, such as the mandatory use of magenta for Amiga genlock keying in 1990s animation work, as detailed by @[email protected]. Users are actively encouraging the recreation of vintage media. @[email protected] pushed for modern animation or music videos using Amiga 2000 hardware and praised Deluxe Paint's capabilities. @[email protected] praised the parallax scrolling and hardware sprite implementation in the 1994 game *Mr Nutz: Hoppin' Mad*. @[email protected] fixated on the persistent catchiness of Rob Hubbard's 'Human Race' and requested details on the original Amiga demo or music disk where they heard it. The activity points toward a shared, deep technical reverence for the Amiga ecosystem. The focus is collaborative sharing of artifacts—games, music, and animation techniques—rather than engaging in direct argument over opposing views.

Wanna do some animation or music-video for The Indie Beat TV or something? Dig up your #Amiga 2000 and Genlock and check out this tutorial video: https://archive.org/details/animation101amigatutorialvideo But seriously, it was pretty interesting to see how animations were made with Amiga back in the day. I'm surprised Deluxe Paint was so advanced, I used it a bit, but only for some simple non-animated pixel-"art". Also it was a pretty funny video, in a silly way, and well-made. #RetroComputing #TIBTV

I look at #Amiga "Mr Nutz: Hoppin' Mad" published in 1994. Mostly looking at the lovely parallax and how the game uses hardware sprites for the player and score display. https://youtu.be/YFyFf0OqPks

#HumanRace by #RobHubbard is one of the greatest songs ever composed, on any media. It's so catchy that I hum the tune decades after I first heard it (an #Amiga version). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5Rs1hdNaEM #C64 #retrocomputing #chiptune Actually, would anyone know which Amiga demo I heard it in? It was a MOD version of course, and I remember a starfield zoomer or something. Basically just a music intro or music disk, but the tune was lovely (for ages I thought that was the original).

🧵 Animation thread, 32/x Scenes from a children's TV series I worked on around 1990 (see previous post in this thread for info). In these scenes, the protagonist's strong magnet shoes cause mayhem in a restaurant. The magenta color was used for Amiga genlock keying. #TV #television #animation #GIF #PixelArt #RetroComputing #vintage #retro #history #commodore #amiga #digital #design #artwork #cartoon #art #artist #arts #arte #designer #DigitalArt #MastoArt #FediArt #MastodonArt #CreativeToots
