Warwickshire is in a dominant position to secure the 2026 County Championship title.

Warwickshire's grip on the 2026 county championship is now vice-like. Having taken a first innings lead of 247 they have reduced Leicestershire to 41-2 in their second, with day two having just been ended by bad light. In addition a draw will be enough for them since their bonus points on top of their existing lead would in that case be sufficient to prevent Somerset from overtaking them (Notts are already out of it thanks to their ordinary batting against Yorkshire). #cricket #CountyCricket #CountyChampionship #WarwickhsirevLeicestershire #NottinghamshirevYorkshire #SomersetvSurrey #WARvLEI #NOTvYOR #SOMvSUR

Brief resumption at Edgbaston but the light has closed in again. Warwickshire tightened their grip on the championship by claiming a third Leicestershire wicket. Leicestershire are 55-3, 192 short of avoiding the innings defeat, and a draw would be enough for Warwickshire no matter what happens elsewhere. #cricket #CountyCricket #CountyChampionship
