#ScribesAndMakers 10/08: How willing are you to take risks with your creative work? Well, the only risk I'm taking is that my books won't sell. That's not a huge risk, if you ask me. So yeah, I'm willing to take that risk if it means I can write what I enjoy to write (and read). Because writing needs to be fun. Maybe that's the bigger risk - writing becoming a chore instead of fun because I'm chasing money. #WritingCommunity

I suspect the greatest risk I take is coming across as ridiculous to the professional book industry (and, therefore, in my day job as a translator) for writing and self-publishing stories that neither stand a chance of ever becoming commercially successful nor count as highbrow literary fiction, but are simply what I like to write (in spite of knowing how it should be done "properly").
